As you know, the City of San Antonio will be considering amendments to our city charter over the next several weeks and possibly enable voters to approve of the proposals during a special election to take place in November of this year. Our last two newsletters included our proposed amendments to the Charter Review Commission (CRC) which were based on continued observations of the bureaucracy and cronyism taking place in city hall.
SAFA was represented at the most recent meeting by volunteer, John Whitsett, and Board Members, Daniel Petri and Patrick Von Dohlen and his young son, Michael who also said hello to the CRC Commissioners.
Now that the public meetings have concluded, the CRC will submit a report to the City Council during a B Session on August 2. From there, discussion will take place by the City Council during an A Session on August 17. Should the Mayor and City Council proceed, a special election could be planned for November 7.
