Oppose San Antonio ISD Policy That Will Allow Boys in Girls’ Bathrooms – Sign the Petition!

San Antonio ISD has approved a new school policy that could allow boys into the girls’ showers, restrooms, locker rooms, changing areas, and possibly even sports teams.

The new policy adds “sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” and “gender expression” (these special protections do not exist in state law) to the current non-discrimination policy. The policy appears to apply to faculty, staff, and students. The new policy will also apply to instances of “accommodation” and decisions about use of bathroom, showers, and locker rooms.

We believe that San Antonio ISD did not give parents and citizens adequate notice about these changes to the non-discrimination policy. When the changes were mentioned as an agenda item, there was not enough information about what the changes would be, nor was there specific reference to the words that would be added (“sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” and “gender expression”) to the current school policy:

We oppose the new SAISD sexuality and bathroom policy, and we call on the NEISD to revoke this controversial policy – sign our petition if you agree!

Oppose SAISD's New Sexuality and Bathroom Policy

San Antonio ISD has approved a new school policy that could allow boys into the girls’ showers, restrooms, locker rooms, changing areas, and possibly even sports teams.

The new policy adds “sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” and “gender expression” (these special protections do not exist in state law) to the current non-discrimination policy. The policy appears to apply to faculty, staff, and students, and it applies to instances of “accommodation” and decisions about use of bathroom, showers, and locker rooms.

These changes in law are the main legal element that allows people to demand that they use the bathroom of their choice based on their “gender identity,” which can be different than their biological sex.

We believe that San Antonio ISD did not give parents and concerned citizens sufficient notice about this issue. The agenda item did not provide adequate detail, nor did it give specific reference to these new words that were added to current school policy: “sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” and “gender expression.” Attempts to add these news words and special legal classifications at the state level have been controversial and unsuccessful.

We oppose the new SAISD sexuality and bathroom policy, and we call on the school district to rescind this polarizing and controversial government policy - sign our petition today if you agree!
