CHURCH ATTENDANCE DIPS

Church membership in the United States dipped below 50% for the first time, according to a recent study by Gallup. “In 2020, 47% of Americans said they belonged to a church, synagogue, or mosque, down from 50% in 2018 and 70% in 1999,” the survey company announced. Some of the declines in 2020 were due to the coronavirus pandemic, but Gallup predicted that “continued decline in future decades seems inevitable.”
