Remember & Celebrate! The first ever direct #ProLife vote victory in SA one year ago
December 17, 2016 marks the one year anniversary of the first major pro-life victory in San Antonio. On this day in 2015, SAFA spearheaded the charge in the pro-life community to win the first ever vote dealing directly with life and abortion in the City of San Antonio’s City Council.
The Abortion Facility Zoning Restriction Amendment, which passed 7-4, forces new ASCs (Ambulatory Surgery Centers)/abortion facilities to go through public notices and hearings, including approval by the Zoning Commission and the City Council. These zoning restrictions prevent any new abortion facilities from opening next to residential neighborhoods.
The victory on Dec. 17, 2015 was the culmination of over 18 months of hard work. Through this fight, SAFA, along with the pro-life coalition, helped save 1,187 babies’ lives.
During this time of celebration as we prepare for the birth of Jesus, we are thankful for all the babies’ lives that have been saved so far. SAFA needs your help to achieve further victories for the pro-life cause. Consider giving a year-end donation to help us in our mission to protect, defend, and promote the family. Help us #reclaimSA.
