VACCINES FOR YOUNG CHILDREN
The FDA voted to approve vaccines for children ages five to 11. Dr. Eric Rubin on the FDA panel stated: “We’re never gonna learn about how safe the vaccine is until we start giving it.
That’s the way it goes.” Michael Kurilla, who abstained from voting, said kids might not need a vaccine. “There are high-risk individuals, and I think they do need to be attended to,” Kurilla said.
“We do need to provide a vaccine for them. But for many others, one dose or no dose, even. If they’ve had prior COVID infection, they may not need anything more.”
