Disney CEO Bob Chapek called Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-FL, to express opposition to HB 1557, which prohibits teaching gender ideology to young children. DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw confirmed the call but said: “The governor’s position has not changed… The same Florida parents who take their families to Disney also support parental rights in education, because they do not want their young children exposed to inappropriate content about sex and gender theory at school.”

FL SENATE DEFENDS CHILDREN

The Florida Senate on Tuesday passed the Parental Rights in Education bill, which would forbid educators to teach gender ideology to students from kindergarten to third grade. The bill would also require schools to notify parents about changes in their children’s mental wellbeing, and empower parents to sue schools that run afoul of the legislation.
