NEISD Board, hello.

Pursuant to the upcoming Board of Trustees meeting this afternoon at 5:30 pm. I am writing to request that you create a well-defined and objective appointment process of Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC) members so that the Texas Education Code is followed and that there is equal and independent parent representation throughout all seven districts of the NEISD.

It would be best if you pass a policy this evening that ensures the SHAC will:

Cooperate with the Texas Education Code
Have a well-defined and objective appointment process where each elected, single member district Trustee gets to appoint a certain number of parents and/or other parents.
50% or more of the SHAC Members need to be
- Parents of NEISD students who are completely independent of the NEISD where not even the appointees’ spouse or other immediate family member(s) work for the NEISD
- Parents who are equally represented in numbers across every single member district
- Persons who have no direct connection with an abortion, same-sex or transgender business or organization or any affiliate of said business or organization, like Planned Parenthood South Texas or its affiliates, Texas Freedom Network and Healthy Futures Texas
10% or less of the appointees can be NEISD employees

This is crucial to creating a SHAC that actually represents our community values and can pursue virtue that the NEISD does a great job of promoting in most every other area of academics and sports.
