VIA Advanced Rapit Transit 2023
It’s basically a done deal… unless the residents and property owners along the 12 mile portion of San Pedro Avenue aka VIA’s “Green Line” Northern Corridor stand up and speak out against the $300,000,000 project that will permanently alter San Pedro Ave, reduce traffic lanes for the sake of riders, and cause increased traffic congestion.
Cause & Effect:
Dedicated Bus Line(s) with permanent Platforms in the median = 2-3 fewer street lanes for individual automobiles
CoSA Government using our tax dollars to promote public transportation to reduce individual drivers
= CoSA achievement of their Paris Climate Accord & CAAP goal of reducing carbon emissions
No Left Turns except at traffic lights = Major inconveniences for residents

VIA Advanced Rapid Transit Meeting took place on Jan. 31, 2023.
NEW VIA Bldg just Southeast (caddy-corner) of the Migrant Service Center at 7067 San Pedro Ave.
Another ($300M) boondoggle planning project that will create a dedicated VIA bus lane to get people through the San Pedro Ave. business district to get downtown quicker… It could be the makings of the beginning of building a light rail.
Meeting requested by SAFA friend, Betty Eckert.
Meeting was held despite the cold weather.
