Religious freedom laws ‘more necessary than ever,’ Congress hears
A House panel held hearings on legislation called The Do No Harm Act, which would dramatically amend the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993.
If passed, the Do No Harm Act would prevent Catholic schools from firing teachers who publicly dissent from church teaching.
The bill would also end Religious Freedom protections for employers who morally object to providing birth control or abortificients.
