The San Antonio Migrant Resource Center (MRC) has been renamed the Centre De Bienvenidos
(or CDB for short) by Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of San Antonio, Inc.
Translation: The Welcome Center in English.
This building has become a win-fall for the Paul Covey family. Under their family corporation, KEM TEXAS, they got a potential insider deal to buy the rate-payer owned, CPS Energy building at 7000 San Pedro Avenue.
KEM TEXAS base contract that was with the City of San Antonio – Municipal Government states that its worth over $1,000,000 per year.
Paul Covey is the registered agent of the corporation that has bought numerous properties over the last years. And it seems that his wife has been the money behind it at least initially. She is part of the Mexican National family that owned BBVA Bank.
Several members of the Covey family have given campaign contributions totaling about $12,000 in to Mayor Ron Nirenberg during his time as Mayor of SA.
