BECERRA AND PARTIAL-BIRTH ABORTIONS
During a House hearing, Rep. Jim Banks, R-IN, pressed health secretary Xavier Becerra, who claims to be Catholic, on whether his department would enforce the federal ban on partial-birth abortions. When asked directly whether partial-birth abortions are illegal, Becerra touted Roe v. Wade’s guarantee of women’s “reproductive rights.”
The Partial Birth Abortion Act became law in 2003. Xavier Becerra was a member of Congress at the time and voted against it.
