BISHOP CORRECTS PRIEST
Bishop William Callahan of La Crosse, WI, said he is offering correction to Father James Altman, whose recent video became a viral sensation with over 400,000 views on YouTube. In the 10-minute video, Father Altman stated: “You cannot be a Catholic and be a Democrat. Period.” In response, Bishop Callahan said: “I understand the undeniable truth that motivates his message … Unfortunately, the tone Father Altman offers comes off as angry and judgmental, lacking any charity and in a way that causes scandal both in the Church and in society.” Bishop William Callahan needs to put the undeniable truth, that Fr. Alman’s statement, albeit strong, is in his eyes, life, and death for millions of babies. Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, TX, reiterated his support for Father Altman’s video.
