Celebrate the 328th anniversary of the beginning of San Antonio!
What came first, San Antonio or Chick-fil-A? San Antonio actually came before the Chick-Fil-A, and we know that you know that. Enjoy this great day and celebrate in some way because 328 years ago TODAY, the seeds of faith were planted on the banks of (now known as) the San Antonio River.
Those seeds of faith planted June 13, 1691 germinated into a municipality, a city officially called San Antonio in 1718. We recently completed SAs Tricentennial Year celebration honoring our communities founders, leaders and ancestors that worked diligently as if everything depended on them and prayed as if everything depended on God. Their commitment & courageous dedication and family-oriented way of life built this City of San Antonio into the great place we live in and love.
During this SA301, remember SA’s beginning on June 13, 1691. Let’s honor those people who came before us, provided for, protected & led us and even died for us (Remember the Alamo) re-committed to be ever vigilant to work for the individual and common good that will build up the family and improve everyone’s quality of life and lead to more long-term domestic prosperity.
Let us also thank the Tx Lege 86 for passing SB 1978 relating to the protection of the membership in, affiliation with, and support provided to religious organizations authored by Senator Hughes and signed into law on Monday, June 10, 2019 by Greg Abbott just a short time after the CoSA Mayor & Council banned Chick-Fil-A from the SA International Airport on March 28 based on disordered ideologies which resulted in violations of the US Constitution First Amendment and Texas Law.
This bill took on the brand of Save Chick-Fil-A-Bill after the targeting by the CoSA Council of the restaurant due to its owner’s beliefs on marriage between a man & woman and the corporations giving to Christian organizations like the Fellowship Of Christian Athletes and the Salvation Army. It now becomes a reaffirmation of Religious Freedom known as the First Amendment Defense Act.
May business owners and all people have the right to their freedom to live out their religion as we all should begin again advocating and fighting for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness of each and all.
The 1A of the Constitution reads: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
