Olympians Protest Horrid Conditions

A large number of athletes, coaches, and officials are protesting the poor living conditions, limited food options, and isolated sleeping quarters provided by the administrators of the Beijing Olympics. Apart from subpar accommodations, some have also complained of extreme COVID rules.

“I only eat three handfuls of pasta a day because it’s just impossible to eat the rest of the food,” said Russian biathlon competitor Valeria Vasnetsova.

“My stomach hurts, I’m very pale and I have huge black circles around my eyes. I want all this to end. I cry every day. I’m very tired.”
