After Capitol Police secured the U.S. Capitol, the House and Senate reconvened for a joint session to count the Electoral College vote. Vice President Mike Pence confirmed Joe Biden as the winner of the presidential election, officially ending the electoral count after a day of violence. So, why did the Republican (Establishment) stop the objections, they did not cause the riots, it seems as if they succumbed to pressure that the riots caused, but did not fulfill their duty? Trump said in a statement that “there will be an orderly transition” on Jan. 20.
