CoSA’s Annual Promotion of HIV Testing

City Councilman William “Cruz” Shaw (D2) challenged other Councilmembers to recruit for HIV Testing. The goal is 4,000 residents taking the test during April. Shaw challenged other council members to compete for the largest number of residents tested by district.

Why not challenge for Chastity testing??? The more sexual partners a person has in their lifetime, the more likely they are to be infected with HIV or another STD. The best ways to prevent getting or transmitting HIV are abstinence or monogamous relationships. The City should be promoting these ways of preventing HIV rather that passing out condoms, which have a high failure rate and give people, especially young people, a false sense of security.
