COVID RELIEF
Senate Republicans stepped up their opposition to President Biden’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-WI, said he’s opposed to the bill’s overall cost as well as the proposed $350 billion to bail out state and local governments. Johnson said he would use a procedural move to force the Senate clerk to read the entire 500-page bill out loud. “I’m going to make them read that thing. It will probably take about 10 hours,” said Johnson. The Senate is scheduled to begin debate on the legislation at noon Thursday.
