DOJ CONFRONTS ALABAMA OVER SEX-CHANGE LAW
The Biden administration’s Department of Justice on Monday announced it will challenge an Alabama law that makes it a felony for doctors to provide “gender-affirming” medical treatments to minors. The law, set to take effect May 8, would lead to doctors facing 10 years in prison for subjecting children to life-altering drugs.
“The law discriminates against transgender minors by unjustifiably denying them access to certain forms of medically necessary care,” the DOJ stated.
