FDA clamps down on sale of unapproved mail-order abortion pills

The #FDA has warned several online retailers that they must immediately #Disist selling unapproved versions of #Abortion drugs #Mifespristone and #Misoprostol online.

The original drugs, mifepristone, and misoprostol remain legal as they were approved by the FDA in 2000.

FDA-approved versions of the drugs have been available to US consumers since 2000, but may only be prescribed by a #CertifiedHealthCare provider in a #Hospital,#Clinic, or #MedicalOffice setting.

They may not be sold #Online or in a #Retail #Pharmacy.
