Christopher Columbus is still revered in Spain but is being replaced with pagan holidays in the USA.

“It is very ironic to see how the Spaniards revere Columbus to this day, contrasted with seeing how some in the United State have taken to criticizing Columbus as though his crossing of the Atlantic was not of much significance.”
