Median income hit record high in 2018 while poverty declined

The poverty rate over the last four years saw the best four-year improvement in decades.

The Census Bureau revealed the poverty level dropped to 11.8% – the lowest level since 2001.

California has the highest poverty rate at 18.2% and Iowa has the lowest rate at 6.8%.
