News Release: SAN ANTONIO CITY COUNCIL LEGITIMIZES ABORTIONS THROUGH THE APPOINTMENT OF ABORTIONIST TO BE LOCAL HEALTH AUTHORITY

ABORTIONIST, Chichi Junda Woo’s appointment by City Manager Sheryl Scully was ratified today by the San Antonio Mayor and City Council. Unfortunately, this time there will be no Emergency Executive Session called to rescind this appointment as there was in August of 2015 almost three years ago to the day. This is the difference in an election and in this case the election of people to office who are long-time allies of “Planned Parenthood” and eugenics. Mayor Ron Nirenberg, former Councilmen District 8 who worked hard with the current City Manager to help “Planned Parenthood” circumvent five objective land-use and zoning laws in 2015-15 to secure its current abortion facility location at 2140 Babcock adjacent to an established residential neighborhood, cunningly worked to route the opposition’s speech today during discussion and even avoided having Written Testimony read that was sent in to the City Clerk.Today’s regular Council Session meeting started with a prayer that thanked God for life, yet it was only a few hours later that the new Local Health Authority would be a person who has terminated unborn human life for money. The measure was first pulled from the Consent Agenda for individual consideration by Greg Brockhouse, Councilman of District 6. He was joined with only one other vote against the appointment by District 10 Councilman Clayton Perry. The illicit measure passed 9-2 which includes the unnecessary but poignant Mayor’s vote.

ABORTIONIST Junda Woo has been the Metro Health Department’s Medical Director since 2015 overseeing STDs, infectious disease, and immunization clinics, Project Worth and Tobacco21. The Health Department’s Health Director Colleen Bridger acknowledges that Woo who has limited public health experience was instrumental in the passage of Tobacco21. Interestingly, in her work with SAMHD Woo has not proposed education and awareness of all Level 1 Carcinogens as rated by the World Health Organization which includes cigarettes (tobacco), asbestos, mustard gas and, particularly relevant, “the pill”. It is chemical contraceptives like “the pill”, Depo Provera, Nexplanon that she promoted at Planned Parenthood South Texas that she now recommends at the Health Department. This fascinating coincidence is evidence of similar agendas and how Public Health has become weaponized to promote promiscuity and perversion to minors and young adults over genuine healthcare and healthy and virtuous lifestyles. Ms. Bridger admitted that Woo and any staff member of the Health Dept. can refer a minor for contraceptives and even for an abortion.

Was this another broken City process or an agenda-driven process? According to the Health Director, only a few licensed physicians were even contacted about this appointment. No “Request For Proposal” was sent out. No one from the military was considered in Military City USA. The two doctors from the Fire Department weren’t considered. Yet in just a couple of Google searches for Medical Doctors (MD) and Doctors of Osteopathy (DO) plus a Master of Public Health (MPH) turned up over well over 35 other licensed physicians including one mention of C. Junda Woo. Is Woo more qualified that a doctor with an MPH or was she just convenient? If it’s really about the best public health, why weren’t all those people contacted?
Considering that the appointment of Woo to be the Local Health Authority is like appointing Michael Vick to be the Local Animal Control Authority, why would the city hire someone whose view of preborn children is that they are disposable? Based on an incomplete process, it seems clear that Woo’s overwhelming qualification for the Local Health Authority position was because she is an abortionist. Animal fans would be outraged with that kind of appointment and have been outraged before the City had no-kill pet shelters. When will humans get at least the same treatment and respect as pets?
SAFA calls on the City to exercise prudence as it did in 2015 when this was exposed and have an Emergency Executive Session to encourage the City Manager rescind this appointment. It is simply immoral to put a person who kills babies or has unrepentantly killed babies for a living in charge of healthcare.
