Sex Ed Sit Out – San Antonio Press Conference
Texas Family and San Antonio Family Association hosted a San Antonio, Texas Sex Ed Sit Out on April 23 in front of the headquarters of North East Independent School District.
We were quickly asked to leave the premises and we were forced to continue the speakers on the public sidewalk. We believe this was against our First Amendment Rights, but complied so we could finish and respect the speakers.
Opening remarks from the press conference:
“Good morning, howdy. On this fine beautiful Texas morning right after we celebrated the Battle of San Jacinto just a few days ago on April 21, we stand here to remember our children and remember not only the children but parental rights and children’s rights. Today is the Nationally Coordinated Sex Ed Sit Out. Parents are fed up. Parents are fed up that our children are being corrupted by the promotion of promiscuity and perversion by our traditional ISDs. It’s time that the ISDs and administrations listen to parents. We stand here before you in front of the NEISD administration building because NEISD is one of the three ISDs in San Antonio that has adopted a promiscuity and perversion promoting sex ed curriculum. And so while sex education might be important to many people, it’s a parents duty and right first and foremost to educate on that. We need our schools educating on anatomy, physiology, biology, natural law, and the like. And so welcome, welcome to this opportunity to learn from parents and professional about this issue that is so near and dear to parents hearts as it impacts their children directly in how they perceive and view life.
The American College of Pediatrics agrees with the Nationally Coordinated Sex Ed Sit out that sexual risk avoidance programs are paramount to introduce and to have curriculum on those types of programs. Sexual risk avoidance programs are like “no drinking and driving,” “no smoking,” “no tobacco.” “No sex” would be consistent with that. The American College of Pediatrics agrees and has given a stamp of approval to the Sex Ed Sit Out.
Almost two years ago the NEISD board of trustees adopted a new sexual risk reduction for NEISD middle school children, 11-13 years old, showing that the NEISD promotes the change from sexual risk avoidance to sexual risk reduction.”
