Special Session of the Texas Legislature

Governor Greg Abbott has called for a special session of the 85th Texas Legislature starting on July 18 to address four “emergency” items:

Reforming Child Protective Services and our Foster Care System to keep our children safe
Banning Sanctuary Cities to keep our communities safe
Ethics reform to reduce the perception of corruption
Calling for a Convention of States to rein in an out of control federal government

We are hoping this session will also give our legislature an opportunity to pass the Texas Privacy Bill (SB6) which we believe will protect women and children from predators in bathrooms and other facilities. This bill is especially important since our newly elected City Council may consider expanding the NDO in San Antonio.
