Supreme Court seems inclined to retain cross on public land

SupremeCourt justices appeared ready to #Protect Maryland’s 40-foot #PeaceCross that serves a memorial for #WorldWar1 veterans.

Atheists have sued to have the memorial cross torn down.

Justice #SamuelAlito asked the lawyer representing the #AmericanHumanistAssociation: “There are cross monuments all over the country, many of them quite old.
Do you want them all taken down?”
