BABY FORMULA SHORTAGE

Major retailers Target, CVS, and Walgreens imposed baby formula purchasing limits to prevent hoarding as out-of-stock rates for the product soared to 31% nationwide.

In several states, including Delaware, Montana, and Texas, the rate is over 40%. The shortage has hit crisis level, causing panic among parents across the country. Economists warn that the problem is not likely to improve in the short term.

American families are raising the alarm about a shortage of baby formulas. While the formulas were readily available as recently as last year, shoppers now can’t find them in brick-and-mortar stores, while online sellers list them as “sold out.” Some third-party sellers online have them available, but only at exorbitant prices.
