CHARTER SCHOOL INITIATIVE

Republican Gov. Bill Lee has invited conservative Hillsdale College to open 50 charter schools in Tennessee that will teach traditional education. Hillsdale is credited with developing the “1776 Curriculum” in direct response to the New York Times’ “1619 Project,” an elementary school curriculum based on Critical Race Theory. “For decades, Hillsdale College has been the standard-bearer in quality curriculum and in the responsibility of preserving American liberty,” said Governor Lee. “I believe their efforts are a good fit for Tennessee.”
