CUPICH ATTACKS
Cardinal Blase Cupich of Chicago made an unprecedented and scathing criticism of an official statement by the U.S. bishops’ conference on the inauguration of President Joe Biden. The statement by the U.S. bishops was very critical of Biden’s support for abortion. Cupich took to Twitter and said: “The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops issued an ill-considered statement on the day of President Biden’s inauguration. Aside from the fact that there is seemingly no precedent for doing so, the statement, critical of President Biden, came as a surprise to many bishops.”
