Heartbeat Bill Counter Protest at PP in San Antonio
On Friday, June 25, the San Antonio Family Association sponsored a counter-protest to the “Be the Change Texas” group in front of the Planned Parenthood at 2140 Babcock Road in San Antonio. The purpose of the “Be the Change Texas” protest was to rail against the Texas Heartbeat bill which was passed by the Texas Legislature and signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott. This Texas Heartbeat Act goes into effect on September 1, 2021.
This is a lifesaving bill for the unborn and a devastating blow to the abortionists. In part the bill states that an unborn child cannot be aborted after a heartbeat is detected. The bill also provides that the Texas Attorney General cannot be sued and will not be involved in any lawsuit directed at the providers. In essence, private citizens now have the power to sue any abortion provider. This provision is the first in U.S. history.
As expected, the abortionists were compelled to protest this lifesaving bill and were given credibility by, of course, you guessed it, MYSA. According to an article written by Pricilla Aguirre on June 18, she quoted Yajaira Montor as an all knowing member of ‘Be the Change’ and a nurse to boot. How much experience does she have as a “nurse” at 24 years do you suppose? Montor told MYSA, “To know that women who are raped can’t have an abortion once they hear the heartbeat in Texas is wrong, and it’s what really pushed me to start this rally.” Montor went further with her misguided thoughts stating that pushing a religion on others and making the choice for women who want an abortion is wrong. “We all have different cultural beliefs and that’s OK” Montor is quoted as saying in the article.

“Cultural beliefs”, is Montor referring to the ancient Maya Indians who sacrificed children to petition the gods for rain and fertile fields by throwing them into sacred sinkhole caves, or the ancient Moloch which is associated with child sacrifice. The bible refers to Moloch in Leviticus 18:21 “You shall not offer any of your offspring for immolation to Molech, thus profaning the name of your God. I am the LORD.”
In simpler terms, abortion is murder of the most heinous kind and is not healthcare. It is the killing of an innocent life before the child has the opportunity to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. As such these misguided misfits are protesting life itself. Killing the unborn is a ‘cultural belief’ that the American people are now revolting against.
I attended this counter-protest against the Heartbeat Bill and I witnessed the vulgarity, vile epithets and disrespectful behavior these protesters exhibited. Not only is their reasoning twisted but their presence only proved their deep seated hatred of religion and loathing of self. It also spoke of an absence of morality, i.e. indiscriminate promiscuity.
Several young scantily-dressed girls stood on one street corner giving out condoms and literature as to why it’s ok to kill the unborn. When did it become ok for young girls to stand on a sidewalk waving condoms at cars driving by? Where are the parents in all this? One of them boldly told me she was more Christian than I was. I never discussed my Christianity with her. She also wanted to know if the only time I had sex was to have children. I did not ask her about her sex life and would never discuss mine. Besides what did that have to do with the issue of abortion and moreover, what business was that of hers. There is no civility or opportunity for dialogue.
As the volunteer photographer for SAFA, I was doing my job, when one young lady accosted me, not only verbally but physically, she grabbed my camera lens and shoved it in my face. I told her that this was totally unacceptable and she released my camera lens. Obviously this young lady has a lot of anger issues because some of her questions were really out of line. I did not answer and walked away. Her boyfriend defended her, carrying the condoms and a water jug with the picture of the Virgin of Guadalupe, the patroness of the unborn. Ironic right? How immature, how ignorant, how disrespectful these young people are! There were numerous police reports filed against these lawless young adults.
Does “Be the Change Texas” promote this type of behavior? Who are the culprits that allow such behavior, parents? That’s where it starts, but our bishops and parish priests have failed to educate our youth and now many wonder around like lost puppy dogs waiting to be loved and nurtured. When are our parish priests going to speak of the unspeakable, these lost teens and young adults? Our priests will say, but our young in the parish are ‘good’ kids. Yes, but what about the lost generation we are presently witnessing. Who will care for them?
