Mayor’s Update on Google Fiber: “Google Fiber on Hold”

“After I had a chance to visit the placement sites of Google Fiber huts between two homes on San Antonio’s southside and saw its mass and scale compared to the homes next to it, I asked City staff to come up with a solution.
While we are putting a halt to construction for the time being, we are still working with Google Fiber to complete their optics project on-time and with minimal further intrusion into residential neighborhoods and parks.
I continue to look forward to the benefits gigabit connection will bring to our residents, and I am optimistic about our work with Google Fiber.”
