MORE MIXED MESSAGES FROM COURT
The Supreme Court made two decisions related to #ReligiousFreedom on Monday.
The justices rejected an appeal by Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Sacramento in its bid to avoid a lawsuit for refusing to perform a hysterectomy on a “transgender” patient.
Yet the Supreme Court also bolstered a Catholic challenge to New York’s requirement that employers’ insurance programs cover abortions.
The justices ordered a lower court to reconsider its rejection of a bid by the Diocese of Albany to widen an existing religious exemption in a 2017 state regulation.
