PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Shane Fuhrman, mayor of Silverton, Colorado, announced at a trustee meeting on June 14 that the Pledge of Allegiance would no longer be said at the start of every meeting. Fuhrman cited “direct and indirect threats” in making the decision. One woman asked to make a comment and then began reciting the Pledge, prompting others to loudly join in.
